Jack Ransone has served as Director of Athletic Training at Texas State University since 2003. A 1982 Texas State graduate, Dr. Ransone earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of New Mexico and later earned fellowship from the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Ransone serves on the Executive Committee for Coaching Education as well as Sports Medicine and Science for USA Track & Field, and served as Medical Coordinator for the 2008 Olympic Track and Field Team, and athletic trainer for the 2009 World Cross Country Championships (Amman, Jordan), the 2007 World Outdoor Championships (Osaka Japan), the 2007 World Cross Country Championships (Mombosa Kenya), the 2004 Olympic Games (Athens, Greece), the 2003 Pan American Games (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), 2002 U.S. National Wrestling Teams Tour of Europe (Nyiregyhaza Hungary and Faenza Italy), the 2001 World Indoor Track & Field Championships (Lisbon Portugal) and 2000 U.S. National Wrestling Teams Olympic Qualifier (Claremont France). Dr. Ransone has received more than $1 million dollars in external funding. In addition to a nationally recognized text in Athletic Training and more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Ransone has spoken nationally and internationally on ergogenic aids, overtraining and athletic sports performance. Prior to his arrival at Texas State, Dr. Ransone was the Director of Athletic Training at Oklahoma State University (1997-2003), Director of Athletic Training at San Jose State University (1994-1997) and Head Athletic Trainer at Adam State (CO) College (1984-1994). Dr. Ransone lives in Wimberley Texas with his wife Connie and two sons, Cody and Tyler. | |
