Rod Harter serves as the Undergraduate Athletic Training Program Director at Texas State University.  Dr. Harter earned his Ph.D. in Physical Education and Human Movement Sciences from the University of Oregon and later earned fellowship from the American College of Sports Medicine. 

Rod Harter has published 15 indexed articles, 15 book chapters, and 46 referred abstracts in the area of sports medicine and biomechanics.  Dr. Harter has presented 35+ papers at national and international meetings while submitting proposals for internal and external grant funding, resulting in more than $300,000 in research expenditures.   Additionally, Dr. Harter serves on the editorial board for Journal of Sport Rehabilitation.

Prior to his arrival at Texas State, Dr. Harter had served at Oregon State University (1990-2009), Director of Athletic Training Education at San Jose State University (1987-1990) and Head Athletic Trainer at South Eugene (Oregon) High School (1981-1987).
